On Saturday, September 6, you can eat and drink for a great cause. Fruit of the Soul is an annual fundraiser to support the preservation of music, art & sustainable education in San Diego and will benefit Little Italy’s Monarch School for homeless and at-risk kids as well as the ARTS program, which provides free art therapy and mentoring to children. The Monarch School provides an accredited education to homeless and at-risk kids while caring for their basic needs such as healthcare, food, and clothing.
Sample dishes from Nine-Ten, Saffron, MARKET, Cowboy Star, Gelato Vero and many other area restaurants while listening to trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos and other local musicians. Also, you can check out more than 200 works by local artists for sale at the Specialty Produce Warehouse at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6. Tickets are $40 at www.fruitofthesoul.org.
Specialty Produce, a local family-owned food supplier, is sponsoring the annual benefit.
