United Way of San Diego County is committed to taking positions, on a selective basis, on local, state and federal issues (i.e., legislation, laws, ordinances, ballot propositions, etc.),
which have a direct effect on the education, income and health of San Diego residents.
The Public Policy Committee, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, will assist in guiding the United Way of San Diego County in
deciding whether to support, oppose or maintain neutrality on any given public policy issue, and if action is to be taken at what level. We understand that in order to fully serve our
communities, support volunteers and advance our programmatic work; advocacy is a vital component in creating systemic changes that help long-term solutions for the needs in our communities.
