With over 40 years of experience, Nancy L. Sasaki has a proven track record of working with diverse communities and building sustainable solutions through collaboration and strategic partnerships. Throughout her career, she has worked with and helped lead several nonprofit organizations. Currently, as President and CEO of United Way of San Diego County, Nancy is committed to advancing the lives of children, individuals, and families across the county through targeted economic mobility and education initiatives. Through Nancy’s leadership, UWSD is addressing longstanding disparities so that all San Diegans have the resources and support needed to achieve educational success and financial stability.

With over 20 years of experience leading finance and operations teams, Shannon is a collaborative leader who oversees multi-faceted functions to drive efficiency, growth, and sustainability. She guides strategic planning and implements streamlined, cross-functional processes to achieve organizational objectives. At the core of her leadership philosophy lies an unwavering commitment to nurturing high-accountability teams within a trusting environment. As a licensed CPA in California (active and in good standing) with expertise in nonprofits, Shannon oversees all facets of financial and regulatory compliance.

James has devoted his professional life to building a more equitable world by creating and supporting systems that help all individuals flourish in the world around them. In his current role, James oversees education and economic mobility initiatives focused on supporting underserved youth in navigating toward thriving adulthood and helping individuals achieve financial security. James is passionate about developing strategies and collaboratives to help people develop the skills and competencies that contribute to a thriving community. He also deeply cares about effectively analyzing these efforts to ensure that organizations and entities continuously improve their outcomes related to positive development.

Bringing over 20 years of nonprofit expertise, Katie is passionate about driving social change and empowering our local community. As a key leader at United Way of San Diego County, she mobilizes resources and forges strategic partnerships that support our mission to ensure that all children, individuals, and families have the support they need to achieve educational success and financial security.
